For the longest time, I’ve always wanted to try out Sample Room. I have seen reviews from other mommy bloggers and it seems very interesting. During my 2 week sick leave, thank you very much chicken pox, I tried to get as much information as I can about Sample Room. I checked out their site, and followed them on Instagram.
Immediately I saw that they had Olay CC and GlyDerm so I immediately signed up for the VIP Account! But for those who are not that familiar with Sample Room, here’s a quick run down of what their site offers:
So what is Sample Room?
Basically it is a site wherein you can request for FREE samples from different beauty brands and more. You sign up and you get points which you can use in getting the FREE samples.
It is not entirely “FREE” you have to pay for the shipment of the item you requested for (which can cost around P100 and up depending on where you are living).
Another one is that you only get 100 points when you register, meaning you can only get one free sample or two.
How do I get more points ASAP?!
If you do want to get an extra boost, and have more points and access to more items, you should sign up for the VIP account.
Their VIP account will give you 1000 points on top of the 100 points you have plus a free gift from them (I got a free lippie from Burt’s Bees). For this however you have to pay a fee of Php 799 and shipping is still not free. Here’s a snapshot of the VIP details
Are my paid points valid forever?
Sadly no, your points will expire after two months, even after you have earned the points back through the reviews.
Is it worth it buying the points?
Yes! Here’s a sample computation. As I shared with you above, I signed up and got 1000 points on top of my existing 100 points. So I have a total of 1000 points.
For my first order, I decided to get the following items:
- Burt’s Bees Lip Balm – 100 points (P325)
- Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream – 300 points (P499)
- GlyDerm – 300 points (P499)
For my second order, I got the following items:
- Palmolive Naturals Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo and Conditioner – 100 points (P96.50 + 95.20)
- Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum – 250 points (P499)
- Palmolive Naturals Flawless Clean Soap – 15 points (P38.90)
So I had to pay 1075 points, for 6 items that originally cost P2055.60 and even got a free item worth around P700 (so total of P2455.60)! I had to pay P300 for shipping, so the total cash out was P1100.
If we are to talk about return of investment, this VIP membership is totally worth it! I technically got P1255.6 worth of beauty products for free!!!
How do I get the points I paid for back?
You just have to post a review to earn 1 point + the number of points you used to get that sample, so yes I can get back the 1000 points I paid for back and re-use it again, within the 2 month period that it is valid.
How long before you get your items?
So I paid for my VIP membership last Oct 9 and also ordered my first 3 items. I got my free product the next day (yay!) The packaging for the VIP gift is adorkable! Gave it to my little girl as her little pretend lunch box!
I then got my first 3 items today! It was in a pretty paper bag, packaging wise there is area for improvement. In my opinion they can make it look more special vs. the current way they ship it out.
Hello Olay, Glyderm, and Burt’s Bees!
I checked-out my second batch of items today, so if I was to check their shipping schedule, I will get it Tuesday or Wed next week:
Overall, my Sample Room experience is great. I am definitely thinking of renewing my VIP membership after two months especially if they have extra special goodies! If you want to try items first before you splurge out, this platform is perfect for you.
