Home made Chicken Tacos

Originally my plan was to cook chicken egg surprise for dinner. I then realized that E has to sleep early because he has to leave by 10 PM for work and that I was craving for some tacos.

Here’s my simple recipe of Chicken Tacos, it has a bit of spice but if you’re not into spicy food don’t add chili powder.

  • 600g ground chicken
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 5 cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 medium sized onions minced
  • 1 cabbage shredded
  • mayo
  • ketchup
  • tabasco sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cheese shredded
  • 12 taco shells

  1. In a bowl mix mayo, ketchup and tabasco sauce, taste to ensure that you are okay with the mixture before mixing it with the cabbage. Add a pinch of salt and pepper then put in your fridge.
  2. In a wok heat oil. Saute onions until translucent and then add garlic. Add ground chicken, cumin and chili powder. Mix and cook for 6-7 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. After cooking, transfer to a strainer to drain excess oil.
  3. Assemble or serve as is. Just don’t forget to make another batch of the mayo and ketchup mixture minus the tabasco sauce for extra dressing.
